A color-coated steel sheet refers to a steel sheet coated with colored paint or film on the surface of substrates such as galvanized steel sheet, galvalume steel sheet, or cold-rolled steel sheet. On the one hand, it can protect the substrate metal, and on the other hand, it can act as decoration. There are three types of coating layer: organic coating, inorganic coating, and composite coating, which develops fastest.

According to the classification of substrates which are used for organic coated steel plates are: cold-rolled sheet, hot-dip galvanized sheet, electro-galvanized sheet, alloyed sheet, galvalume sheet, electro-galvanized alloy sheet, tin-plated sheet, chrome-plated sheet and aluminum sheet.
In recent years, with the popularization and application of new energy sources such as solar energy and wind energy and increasingly stringent environmental protection requirements by severe corrosive environments, alloy metals such as aluminum-zinc alloy and zinc-aluminum-magnesium alloy have been made one after another aiming to increase the corrosion resistance of the metal layer.

Shinmade plans to launch a new project of aluminum-zinc-magnesium high-corrosion-resistant coated steel sheet. The AZM steel sheet is a new generation of high-corrosion-resistant coated steel sheets. The metal element content in the coating is: 53% aluminum, 43% zinc, 2 % Magnesium, 1.5% silicon and other elements. As the main material of the roof panels and facades of the steel structure system, AZM steel product replaces the first and second-generation galvanized steel because of its corrosion performance and long service life.
The AZM coating has characteristics of corrosion resistance. The metal elements in the alloy coating work together to reduce the consumption rate of the surface coating. At the same time, the corrosion resistance of the cut section of the coated steel is also improved. In most cases, its performance is better than that of the galvalume steel sheet if with the same coating amount.
The zinc in the alloy coating provides sacrificial protection, and aluminum provides passivation protection. The material of magnesium activates the coating layer, reduces the consumption speed of the coating layer, and forms an insulating protective layer on the cutting edge and cross-section. The element zinc also protects the metal coating layers, which effectively improves the corrosion resistance of the coated steel products.
The span-life of the aluminum-zinc-magnesium steel plate in the general environment is more than 30 years.
